The goal of the IFDC is to strengthen and empower families who live in and around Irvington to reach the goals they have set for themselves.

The IFDC is a friendly neighborhood gathering place where families can go to receive different types of services for themselves and the people they care about.  It is a safe and fun place where anyone can go for family support, job readiness, workshops, and other general support services.  The IFDC helps to strengthen lives by empowering all families to succeed.

Some of the FREE programs offered are:

  • Educational workshops on health, job readiness, life skills, housing, and more.
  • Support groups for pregnant and new moms, teen girls, and pre-teen boys and girls
  • Information and referrals for prenatal care, food pantry, housing and utility assistance
  • Job readiness: resume and cover letter writing and interviewing skills
  • Enrollment into NJ Family Care health insurance
  • Fun activities for parents and their children
