IFDC meets with Racine Kenosha Community Action Agency
The Irvington Family Development Center was honored to have recently received a visit by the Racine Kenosha Community Action Agency, an organization in Wisconsin looking to develop programming in their urban communities to tackle a growing infant mortality rate among African Americans. This Agency identified the Irvington Family Development Center as a model program for effective community engagement. Ilise Zimmerman, President & CEO of the Northern Consortium, organized the site visit and invited Irvington Mayor, Wayne Smith, to welcome the guests and share information about the Irvington community. The Wisconsin team was so impressed that Ilise Zimmerman and Mayor Smith have been engaged as consultants to this effort and will be traveling to Racine, Wisconsin in June.
