Irvington Anti-Violence Town Hall Meeting

In response to violence in the Township of Irvington, New Jersey, community leaders recently organized an anti-violence town hall meeting. Hundreds of concerned citizens and special guests, including the Honorable Wayne Smith of Irvington, NJ and Mr. Marti Robinson, Esq., M.Div., the Fatherhood Program Coordinator of the Northern Consortium’s F.E.L.L.A.S. (Fathers Empowered to Learn, Lead, and Achieve Success) Fatherhood Program of Essex County were invited to discuss, analyze and offer solutions to the pandemic of violence which plagues the Township of Irvington, NJ.

F.E.L.L.A.S is a Program of the Northern New Jersey Maternal/Child Health Consortium and it aims to help Essex County fathers and fathers-to-be to develop the attitudes, knowledge, and skills they need to get-and stay-involved with their children. Mayor Smith and Mr. Robinson both offered F.E.L.L.A.S. as a viable solution to the violence in the Township of Irvington, NJ because “ F.E.L.L.A.S. encourages all of its participants to value his own life and the lives of others”.
