Perinatal Addictions Prevention Project

The Perinatal Addictions Prevention Project encourages healthcare providers that provide services to pregnant women to screen every pregnant woman for alcohol, tobacco, or other drug use and partner violence.  Project staff provide on-site training, in-service presentations, or Grand Rounds presentations to healthcare providers focused on techniques for client screening, enhancing rapport, and resources available for treatment.

The Perinatal Addictions Prevention Program also compiles Resource Directories:

For a Regional Directory of Substance Abuse, Domestic Violence, and Mental Health Services for Women, please click here.

For a Bergen County Directory of Behavioral Health Services for Children and Adolescents, please click here.

Project staff include a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Licensed Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.  Both staff members are Spanish-English bilingual and can also provide educational presentations to groups of consumers or pregnant women.

The Perinatal Addictions Prevention Program is funded by a grant from the NJ Department of Health & Senior Services.
