Postpartum Depression

The Northern Consortium serves as an information and resource center on postpartum depression and perinatal mood disorders for the region (Bergen, Essex, Morris, and Passaic counties). Information and educational sessions are provided to hospitals, healthcare providers, and community members on postpartum depression and emotional well-being.

The Northern Consortium’s Postpartum Depression Program is designed to educate consumers and professionals, and to connect them to available resources.  We collaborate with local agencies to attend health fairs, present at community centers and agencies, and provide CEUs for nurses, social workers, and other health care providers.  The Postpartum Depression Program also assists the Northern Consortium’s member hospitals to monitor their screening rates for postpartum depression.

If you are a healthcare provider and would like more information about PPD or to learn about our continuing education opportunities, please email Debbie Duncan, RNC.
